乔治敦运河公馆, 臻品之选酒店(Canal House of Georgetown, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel)

I am writing to formally express my disappointment regarding my recent stay at Canal House in Georgetown. I checked in on Wednesday evening and checked out on Friday, and unfortunately, my experience fell well below expectations for a property positioned at a premium level. Upon check-in, the front desk agent explained the hotel amenities to me and specifically stated that breakfast was included with my stay. However, the following morning at breakfast, I was approached by a waiter who asked whether I had a coupon or voucher. I explained that I did not, as I am a Bonvoy member and was told at check-in that breakfast was included with my status. This interaction occurred publicly and was embarrassing as a guest. The situation was later addressed with a manager, who attempted to remove the fee. However, by that point, the damage had already been done. Speaking to and questioning a guest in that manner should not happen, and it put me in an uncomfortable position. I made it clear that I only wished to be charged for what I consumed, which was a half bagel and four pieces of fruit. I was ultimately charged $10, which still felt unreasonable given the circumstances. Additionally, I booked this hotel with the expectation that my room would be cleaned daily. This did not occur. While getting ready for work one morning, housekeeping knocked on my door. I asked if they could return in an hour, which they did. At that time, I was only provided fresh towels. Not worth the money

Beautiful property in a very nice and convenient location. Steps away from M street on one side and the Potomac on the other. Very friendly and efficient staff. Only thing to take into account is that the rooms (at least the standard room we stayed at) are very small and with very little natural light. This was not a problem for us, but it might be for someone that would like, for example, to work in the room.
