Absolutely the most relaxing and beautiful spa to truly unwind, enjoy activities you most likely have never done (Japanese swords?), or simply recoup and be pampered. Lake Murray will "carry you away" for sightseeing or you can paddle boat through the quiet water with only the sound of birds coming from the forest across the way. You will love the staff, the food, the spa and always remember your entire experience at this lovely resort!

Average spa and resort—overpriced for what it is. The resort is not cheap. I came with 2 girlfriends and got a hot tub cottage with 2 queen beds. The room was fine, not as big as expected. But for $3600/night, we expected a certain level of service which was unfortunately lacking. Our suspicion is that since there is no tipping, there is no incentive for staff to provide good service. Even the manager, Dennis, seemed to lack hospitality training. Pros— -the food was exceptional for an all inclusive -the fitness classes and instructors were very good. We especially liked Jackie and her cardio drumming class Cons— -as mentioned above, the service was lacking throughout. Waiters at dinner not being knowledgeable about the menu. Waiting ＞30 mins to get our order taken when sitting for a meal. -the spa services were mediocre at best. One of our friends had a terrible experience with her therapist doing very Jerky movements during the Swedish massage -the common areas were not well maintained. There were spider webs everywhere and mold on the pool floats -we called to ask for an iron or steamer to our room and it never arrived after an hour and multiple calls to the front desk -our room was cleaned but not vacuumed (copious amounts of sand still on the ground) and trash cans not emptied -they have free prosecco for guests in the lobby (which was never offered to me at check in). But upon asking for a glass during my stay, Dennis the manager let out an audible sigh and begrudgingly filled a glass. Since that time, the bottle had been moved. -the wine down cruise was not worth it. They give you a tumbler of a glass of wine and trail mix on the cruise (which is free in the lobby anyways). The cruise at other times of the day was complimentary but the wine down in the evening is $95/person. So you are essentially paying for a $95 glass of wine. I’d take your own drink on and do it for free at another time during the day. All in all, it was a good stay with college friends but it was definitely overpriced for what it was.

Lake Austin Spa Resort was such an amazing experience to be able to connect with nature, reflect and simply relax. All of the staff were so kind and the food was wonderful. I can’t wait to return!

Lake Austin spa resort has collected a friendly helpful and caring staff who handle you with care enthusiasm and smiles. The resort offers fitness classes, yoga, cooking and art along with a few other interesting informative ones. The spa is beautiful and has many set rest areas to sit and relax both inside and out. The food is top notch and plentiful.
