This is no longer a travelers location but a locals hangout, multiple sites partying and loud music, our neighbors were up load and obnoxious until 3:30am the park didn't do anything about it.

Every year we come here and always have a great and relaxing time. We always stayed in the cabins without bathrooms and next time we are going to upgrade to a cabinet with a loft and private bathroom. It is something we look forward to every year.

This is a big KOA, nice grounds, some children's activities, heated pool and hot tub. Those are the positive qualities. The park itself is laid out poorly, tight roads, and short sites. You can fit a large rig in the sites, but you will have to spend some time moving it around to get into the sites. The sites themselves are small enough and tight enough that one evening another Class A rounded a corner too sharp, hit our tow bar, then took out our lower ladder. We were here from December 15 to January 15 to enjoy the Bay Area during the holidays. The Bay Area was great, this park was a nightmare. We have never been in a park with such inconsiderate campers before. It was utter chaos. The park says they have quiet hours, etc, yet enforcement is pretty lax. Ironic too that during the LA wild fires and fire watch in this area that the park continued to sell firewood and allow campfires. With a monthly site rental you have to pay for power at this park. They are not very clear on the power charges when you check in, but you will become very familiar when you check out. Their current rates for electric are .40 per kilowatt hour for first 25, then it jumps up to .50 for everything there after. Now of course that's not the going rate for electricity in the Bay Area, this is just the KOA price gouging the monthly renter. Absolutely appalling to us as full time travelers. There is a nice tree canopy, yet that will impede your satellite services and of course the trees bring the birds, which equals some nasty quantities of droppings. Of course, that is no fault of the KOA, but you should be aware up front. The pools and hot tubs were heated, yet so highly chlorinated that it burned your eyes and nose. Our kids rented a deluxe cabin that slept 6 for a long weekend while we were here. The cabin did not have enough bedding for the beds and when we asked for more bedding they were told there was none available. Why have cabins for 6 and not provide adequate bedding is beyond me. Not only that, the kitchen was stocked with 4 place settings, etc for 6 occupants. Really a poorly managed park. The options in the Bay Area are very limited, we picked this park based on reviews and certainly wish we would have explored other options. Needless to say we will never return to this park. We camped at San Diego Metro KOA Resort in a Motorhome.

Came out for a week late August. Wr rented a cabin and it was great until the weekend. Friday evening the neighbors pulled in with loud music and it didn't stop till 4 am. The next day was the same, asked front desk to address the issue and still nothing ! I love the San diego KOA but it's frustrating that group of loud people can ruin a nice quite weekend for a lot of people and the staff does nothing about it! Definitely not returning to the San diego KOA !

Very nice RV resort with lots of amenities and cure cottages too. Only problem we ran into is lots of chair saving at the pool. Feel kinda of loke a cruise ship with towels on chairs and no one sitting there. Workers could maybe put a sign up not to reserve chairs or allow for unused cabin chairs to be used.

Had a package shipped there and they said it was there and now all of a sudden it’s gone and the general manager Al all of a sudden said he never spoke to us. It’s so weird that one day it’s there and another day it’s not. Wonder how it disappeared all of a sudden

It is a beautiful campground. It is well maintained. Bathrooms, showers, pool are kept in immaculate condition. It is also in close proximity to many attractions. A very large grocery store is within a half mile. The people at the front desk were very helpful and friendly. We discovered during our 4 night stay, that as beautiful as it is, it is not our brand of camping and the environment that we enjoy. If you camp anywhere, you expect some degree of noise. You also expect that campers have a degree of respect for other campers! There was a segment of the camper population at this KOA who felt the camp experience was all about them and they had no respect for their neighbors who often were 5 feet from them. And the KOA does nothing about it! Loud music, loud people who party during the day and at night. They have quiet hours that start at 10:00 pm. But that was no guarantee when we were there. When we were there a nearby camper decided this was the perfect place to watch a major boxing match out side on his huge screen with his friends. For 2 hours we heard the boxing match word for word, as did probably 20+ other campers. This went on for 2 solid hours until almost 10pm. I don't care if it is not "quiet hours" it was over the top annoying, and totally inconsiderate of everyone around them.

This place rocks! We stayed in one of the tiny house accommodations by the pool, hot tubs and laundry. Assistant Manager Al greeted us upon arrival and did an outstanding job checking in throughout the week offering assistance with so many things….from restaurant tips to getting firewood. The friendly staff exceeded our expectations. It was like having an instant camping family. Our lodging place sparkled. Fresh, clean & in excellent condition. Stocked with everything you needed. We even had our own Weber grill for cookouts and deluxe campfire spot for toasting marshmallows and chilling out in the evenings. This is a KOA that offers as much for adults as families all within an easy drive or, in our case, bicycle ride to either Chula Vista or San Diego. If you are on the fence, just go! You will be glad you did.

Oh the crows….. 30 minutes before sundown a million crows come to roost in the local area. The crows start cawing at sunrise and bird poop covered our truck and rv. The drive through site that we were given was not cleaned, lots of tree debris and bird poop covered the cement pad and picnic table. The sewer gas was overwhelming. On the good side, the outdoor pool was lovely. This campground really caters to children.
