兰嘉丝汀酒店(Lancaster Hotel)

The location was fab overlooking the bay, this was the only thing good to say about this hotel. To charge a £160 for anights stay was robbery. The staff were rude and ignorant. The room was absolutely disgusting, the bathroom if you could call it that was awful, a toilet and a shower cubicle squashed together, the shower hose was disgusting covered in brown scum and rust. The sink was in a corner of the bedroom and again was disgusting the silicone around the sink was grimy. The wall paper was hanging off the walls and ceiling and the ceiling light had all electrical wires showing. There was mold on the ceilings. The coffee sachets in the room were stale. We had the full breakfast which was pathetic, 1 sausage,I tomato, 2 really fatty pieces of bacon, 1 egg, 1 black pudding and 2 pieces of toast, with weak coffee. On checking out the staff didn't even bother to speak to us on the desk, looked at us the turned their backs to us, so we just left our key and went. An absolute horrendous place to stay

Wish I had read reviews before booking.Left within a half hour of arriving,bathroom was disgraceful ,toilet seat an absolute horror.

Great view and lovely staff are the only attributes. Cannot believe this property has passed a hotel inspection. Bedrooms in desperate need of basic maintenance, deep clean and modernisation. Wallpaper peeling off ceiling and patches of damp in bedroom and toilet/shower room. No wash hand basin in toilet and rentokil insect detector under bed. Rates were at the cheaper end but by no means commensurate with the experience.

This was our second stay here. The hotel is some 15 minutes walk from the bus station. The views from the hotel are excellent, but the view from our room was only of the wall of the cathedral. The room was very warm but a little old fashioned. This was not important because we were not in the room much. The staff were friendly and helpful and a pleasure to deal with. The public area had a pleasant old fashioned atmosphere that made sitting in the lobby pleasurable.

A true retro hotel. The TV screen was A4 size and can't remember the last time I found formica in a hotel room. Wifi available in reception area only. My room was next to a flight of stairs with a banging door. It's def seen better days. It's so old it was almost fun. Almost.
